Southern Telecom Region (STR), an ISO 9001:2008 certified unit of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, headed by Chief General Manager Maintenance, Southern Telecom Region, Chennai, is responsible for the maintenance of National and International long distance ( NLD & ILD ) telecom network consisting of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC), Microwave (MW), Satellite, Submarine Cable, KU Band and VSAT, NMS/ NOC for Managed Leased Line Network (MLLN) and Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) Network in the Southern States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and the Union Territories of Lakshadweep Islands and Pondicherry.
